+ What do you think the primary purpose of this piece is?
+ Is it to serve as art?
+ Is it nessecary to exhibit great amounts of artistic skill to convey a politic message?
+ Do all political messages need to be art?
[regarding stencils]
i dunno, looking at some other pieces, without regards to technique, I see good art. To consistantly create good art (as i image some of those folks do) would by definition require some skill in the field of art. Is this the skill that is lacking? Perhaps you reference the skills associated with precision aerosol painting, if this is the case what makes these skills special?
Isn't it entirely possible people could aquire these skills with practice? having aquired these skills has the person simultanously aquired talent? and what does it all matter in the end, when you didn't see it created, you aren't familar with the techniques involved, you frankly dont care, and all you know is what you see.
[regarding this particular piece]
not much to say except it has more flavor than the wall its painted on and thats enuff for me. Give me individual expression over an ad for the latest pop culture phenom any day.
